Tamaris International Shoe fashion and style tips

Nazan Eckes & Tamaris Heart & Sole

Nazan Eckes is a likeable woman with both feet firmly on the ground. We met her and our exclusive interview reveals how Nazan’s love affair with high heels began and who she shares one heart and one soul with.

Nazan, this is your first time in Tamari’s Heart & Sole high heels – after a long day of shooting, what’s your verdict?

I have to say I’ve definitely been missing out on something. (laughs) For professional reasons, I often have to stand around in high heels for hours and it’s rare I can stand heels longer than six hours. But I’m quite surprised. I’d almost say you can walk twice as long in Tamaris Heart & Sole heels.

So, passed the test?

Absolutely! (laughs)

On what occasions do you like to wear high heels?

On the job mainly, whether on the red carpet, at shows or in the studio – high heels simply conjure up a beautiful figure and fit perfectly with any outfit. In the evening I like to go out to dinner with my husband or go out with friends and get my high heels out of the cupboard. I’m very active with my boys in my spare time, so flats are better suited for that.

And why do you like to go for high heels then?

Actually, partly because of my height, you can always do with a little bit of help. But high heels also let you stand better and straighter, the proportions are better. I just feel good in them! Of course, wearing heels also has a lot to do with self-confidence and poise. As a woman, you feel sexy and secure. Having well-fitting heels is important. You must be able to walk comfortably in them, otherwise it has the exact opposite effect.

Tamaris Heart & Sole stand for being one heart and one soul with its high heels. Let’s apply this to our daily lives. Who are you one heart and one soul with?

With my family. My husband and my two boys are the most important things in the world to me. We are simply better as a foursome. My kids are now three-and-a-half and one-and-a-half years old now and you always think that they need their parents so much, but we parents need our kids so much, too. It’s the best feeling to have unity, to be one heart and one soul. I never thought anything could be so intense.

How has your life changed since you became a mother?

I used to be very spontaneous about going to events, was ready to travel anywhere at short notice and also made private appointments spontaneously, too. That’s not really possible any more. You have to make detailed plans in advance and make sure that someone is there to take care of the children. Of course, it’s more exhausting overall but also more rewarding!
